When hovering on an arc, the related inner nodes are highlighted. But if you try and explore more detail on those nodes they become un-highlighted as soon as you move off the arc. Leaving a user to have to almost memorize the position of the nodes they might want to learn more about.
Is there a way to allow nodes to stay highlighted, perhaps until another arc is hovered upon?
My use case is focused up being able to learn more about the inner node that is connected to the arc: https://jfurfey.github.io/mbl-2016/scientists.html

I think this is something where you would want to refine the UX a little bit. Perhaps giving the user the ability to “select” an arc by clicking on it. So when an arc is selected all the inner nodes for that arc stay highlighted until the user clicks on something else and then the arc is de-selected.
Something like that would require some modification to the halo theme file.
